Principal Computer Vision Engineer

Location: Baltimore, MD

Currently seeking a Principal Computer Vision Engineer. In this position you will:

  • Conduct applied research in computer vision and machine learning.
  • Develop, enhance and support software/hardware platforms for automated image/video processing, exploitation and understanding.
  • Interact with sponsors, customers and users to understand needs and requirements.
  • Assist in preparation of proposal and reporting materials.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Significant research experience in computer vision. Emphasis on object tracking and recognition preferred.
  • Significant practical experience in machine learning using Python scientific computing and modern machine learning frameworks: numpy, scikit, scipy, Tensorflow, Keras, etc.
  • Willingness to apply for a Department of Defense Secret Clearance. Requirements include US citizenship.
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts by spoken and written means.

Extra consideration will be given to applicants whose qualifications include:

  • Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Software development experience in C/C++
  • Experience with OpenCV
  • Experience with GPU acceleration using CUDA
  • Experience working in a collaborative, multi-developer environment
  • Background working with camera sensors
  • Active DOD Secret clearance

This is an opportunity to have an impact in early product development leading to field deployment. Candidates should be self-starters and able to conduct high level research and development with minimal supervision. Some telecommuting work is an option for this position.



Digital Design Engineer – FPGA

Location: Baltimore, MD

Responsible for developing and maintaining programmable logic code base.  Expected to assist in PCB design, schematic and layout. Expected to assist in bringup of new board designs.  Looking for applicants with experience in most but not necessarily all of the following:

  • FPGA design
  • VHDL / Verilog
  • RTL design and simulation
  • Timing closure
  • Familiarity with Xilinx Vivado and/or Altera Quartus

Board bringup experience:

  • Power supply troubleshooting
  • JTAG chain debugging (initial configuration of micro-controllers, FPGAs, etc)
  • debug of low-level interfaces: I2C, UART, USB, etc

Micro-controller programming:

  • C++ / C / Assembly
  • GCC tool chain
  • In-circuit debugging

Experience in digital PCB design, both schematics and layout a plus:

  • High-pin-count digital devices (e.g. BGAs)
  • High-speed serial interfaces (e.g. gigabit transceivers)
  • High-performance RAM (e.g. DDR3)
  • On-board power supplies
  • Clock and signal integrity issues (impedance matching, etc)
  • Mixed-signal issues (e.g. interfacing to ADCs / DACs)

Additional Skills a Plus

  • Experience with digital/analog video standards
  • Advanced scripting (TCL, Python, etc.)
  • PCB design for manufacturing (DFM) techniques
  • Signal/image processing experience
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer

General:

  • Effective written and spoken communicator
  • Interaction with customers
  • Must be a US citizen


Mid-level Software Engineer

Location: Baltimore, MD.

Must have experience in most but not necessarily all of the following:

  • Experience with complex, multi-developer projects
  • Extensive experience with C/C++
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Experience interfacing with hardware devices
  • Linux operating system; system level programming a plus
  • Real time operating systems a plus
  • GPU/CUDA programming a plus

General:

  • Effective written and spoken communicator.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally to customer sites for installation and support
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have a minimum of five years industry experience, or equivalent.  Entry-level applicants will not be considered.
